The LionSteel M1 is a compact fixed knife from the famous LionSteel M collection. Sleek, Italian design, top-quality materials and an excellent finish are combined in this fixed knife for EDC use. A perfect knife to carry with you on a daily basis for all types of tasks. Stronger than a folding knife, but hardly bigger.
LionSteel chose the popular Böhler M390 steel. An Austrian type of super steel that retains its sharpness well. Also incredibly stainless, so perfect to carry with you on a daily basis. Sharpening might be a little trickier, but with the right technique and equipment it won’t be a problem. The spine of the blade is neatly rounded off as is custom for this prize-winning Italian brand. At the same time the edge is still sharp enough to scrape a firesteel when you build a fire. Because of its versatile droppoint shaped blade this knife can basically do anything. Use it in the kitchen, to clean small game, open boxes, or to cut feather sticks: this knife will always come in handy. You can also put a lot more pressure on it than any other pocket knife because a fixed knife cannot close. For anyone who uses a knife on a daily basis this could also be an interesting option for when you are still deciding between a pocket knife and fixed knife.
The handle on the LionSteel M1 is made from walnut wood. A stunning type of wood that gives the knife a luxurious look and feel. Despite its size the handle feels great in hand. With average sized hands you can still reach a solid four finger grip. As you might know from LionSteel this handle also has wavy grip ridges. A subtle detail, but great for the eye and the hand.
You carry the LionSteel M1 with you in de included leather belt sheath. It has a belt loop (max. belt width of 5.0 cm) but this knife will also easily fit inside your pocket. The knife falls deeply into the sheath. To help you remove it LionSteel has attached a lanyard with a titanium bead. The paracord has been attached with a screw. Not very common, but very nice.

Affilato come un rasoio. Manico in noce di qualità. Unico appunto la lunghezza dell' impugnatura, che per me è da tre dita. Avrei preferito un centimetro di lunghezza in più sul manico. Nel complesso, ottimo acquisto.,Loïc Demasy, TarareFriday, 8 September 2023,In generalValue for moneyExpectationsThis review has been written in French. Click to read.Andrew T, FontwellSunday, 24 July 2022,In generalValue for moneyExpectationsThis is a fantastic little knife. The blade is a little shorter than the Thrill (a UK friendly pocket knife) but it is a useful size for general utility. The blade came very sharp, just about hair whittling, and the sharpest within my collection of Lionsteel knives. The general impression of quality is high, as I have experienced with their other knives. The handle is small but the walnut scales are beautifully milled and it is comfortable for my small-medium male hands (glove size size 7-8) with room for 4.5 fingers on the short handle. The wood appears to be untreated (some imperfections in the grain are tangible when running fingers over the handle) so I have given it a couple of coats of oil and beeswax. It has seen some brief use in the garden for normal tasks and some play by feathering sticks. It is thin enough for some mild kitchen use as a paring knife. A perfect smaller knife for camping/picnics. Too small for battoning light kindling (the handle is apt to twist given it's slim size) but quite robust and the edge is still pristine. The holster is very nice, as is standard for Lionsteel. However, and as is common with their holsters, the stitching is exposed on the inside and, already and despite exercising care, I have managed to nick one of the stitches near the top whilst sheathing the knife. The sheather sits very nicely and at a good height. This will, unfortunately, see daily use in the UK outside of the house but it is not obtrusive on a belt. This has nowhere near the heft of the M4 but is a perfect little companion knife to something larger for smaller tasks.,Rover van Ooijen, WillemstadSaturday, 6 January 2018,In generalValue for moneyExpectationsThis review has been written in Dutch.
